What is Texas Boys State?
Texas Boys State is a government, civics and leadership program hosted by the American Legion annually at the University of Texas in Austin, TX.
~1,100 of the best and brightest rising seniors from the state of Texas are selected by their schools to attend the program each year, and these students construct their own version of the Texas government in just 6 days.
My Role
TXBS is nearly entirely volunteer run, and after a truly impactful experince as a statesmen in 2023, I have decided to return as a counselor each year to pass on the favor I was so generously provided.
Each “city” is a group of ~50 statesmen (students), and each city is assigned a team of four counselors, with 1 lead, 1 senior, and 2 junior counselors. In 2025 I was promoted to be a senior counselor,
